Our Commission Process
1. Research
Take a look at the different styles on our website to see what style works best for your idea. You can also browse our select range of ‘ready-made’ commission packages, to see if any of those are a good fit for your commission project. Our commission packages will also give you a rough idea of our prices, but please keep in mind that every commission is different and we can only give you an exact price, once we know more about your project.
Things to think about:
Artist Brief: Subject of artwork, size, colours, any text to be included, technique or style?
Reference Images: Do you have relevant reference images that we can work from?
Budget: What is you budget?
Timeframe: When do you need the final artwork?
Use: Is the art for commercial or private use?
2. Contact Us
When you have a clear idea of what you want us to create, please get in contact via e-mail drawntogetherartists@gmail.com or by filling in our contact form. A quick summary of what you want is fine at this stage. If you have any examples of similar work on our website that can be helpful. Do let us know when you need the finished artwork. We may ask you to provide us with some more information before we get back to you with a price. Our normal timeframe for a commissioned print is around 2-3 weeks, once the order has been placed. This may be longer at busy periods, or for more intricate commissions.
3. Place your order
Once we have got a good understanding of want kind of artwork you want us to create, we will send you a link to a unique product order listing with all the details of your commission, alternatively we will direct you to one of our ‘ready-made’ commission packages. Please read through the details carefully before placing your order and don’t hesitate to ask us more questions if needed. For most commissions we take the full payment upfront. For larger commissions, we are happy to take a deposit of 50% of the total price to secure the commission, and the remaining 50% when the artwork is completed and approved. All our commission prices include 2 rounds of edits and for UK commissions shipping cost are also included in the price.
4. Work on the artwork starts
When we have received your commission order, we will start working on the art. We normally allow around 1-2 weeks for this stage, before sending you a first draft of the artwork. Please note that the timescale may vary depending on the nature of the artwork.
5. Feedback & Edits
You will receive the first draft via email for you to review, comment or give suggestions of any edits that you might want. Edits typically include small changes to details, colours or layout. Remember that revisions are a normal part of the commission process and we are happy to receive feedback from you. However we do not usually redraw large sections of the commission at this stage, it more about fine-tuning the artwork to your taste. Once we have received your feedback, we will start working on any changes. We will then get back to you with an updated version of the artwork for you to approve. Most of our commissions can be completed with one set of edits, but we do allow for a second round of fine-tuning edits just in case its needed. Any additional edits may be subject to extra fees. The edits stage of the commission vary in time, depending on the changes requested.
6. Final Artwork & Delivery
Once the artwork has been approved by you, we will proceed to producing your art print. We will print and sign your bespoke print, then carefully prepare it for shipping. We usually aim to dispatch your commissioned print within 1-2 working days of you approving the final artwork. Shipping cost is included in all our UK commissions. If you prefer you can arrange to pick up the print straight from our studio in south London.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing about you commission idea!
