About Ostara

Ostara marks the beginning of spring. It's a time when nature is coming into bloom, the days get longer and we officially enter the lighter half of the year. Ostara is named after the pagan goddess Ostara. Not much is known about her, but ancient texts confirm that during Eostremonath (the old Anglo-Saxon name for April), Anglo-Saxon pagans held festivals in honour of Ostara. Many Germanic texts also mention the goddess Ostara in connection with celebrating the spring Equinox.
